Construction cradle breaks in Khotsimsk: one worker injured, another killed
A tragedy occurred in the urban settlement of Khotsimsk in the Mogilev region of Belarus – a worker died during repair work, and another was injured.
The press service of the Investigative Committee of the Republic reported the incident on its official Telegram channel.
According to information released by the department, the workers fell from a broken construction cradle.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, September 20, when the men, aged 54 and 44, were carrying out repairs on the building of the district hospital at the third floor level.
During the work, the fastening of the construction cradle broke and the workers fell onto the concrete steps of the emergency entrance.
Unfortunately, one of the victims died. The second man, who received multiple injuries, was hospitalized.
An investigative task force was working at the scene of the incident.
It has been preliminarily established that the workers did not use safety equipment, the report says.
At present, all the circumstances of the incident are being established, with special attention being paid to the causes and conditions that contributed to the tragedy.
