A serious emergency occurred on Monday evening, December 9, in the city of Slutsk.
There was a fire in the dormitory of the local cheese factory. 320 people were evacuated.
The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus reported the incident on its official Telegram channel.
The agency notes that the building's automatic fire alarm system was activated, and rescuers received a corresponding notification.
They immediately left for the place (the hostel is located on Molodezhnaya Street).
There, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees discovered smoke on the first floor of the building.
Even before the rescuers arrived, the residents carried the man out into the corridor, who was then handed over to the medics.
Also, before the arrival of the Ministry of Emergency Situations workers, 320 people (85 of them children) evacuated from the building after hearing the fire alarm system.
The press service noted that as a result of the fire, bedding was damaged over an area of 2 square meters.
Currently, experts are determining the cause and circumstances of the incident.
