Geranium causes the least trouble for gardeners. There are no problems that even a beginner could not cope with.

The main thing is to understand the reason in time and then the plant will again delight you with bright colors in cloudy weather.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", a scientist, agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about the most common reasons for yellowing geranium leaves.

Reason one: humidity

For many plants, excess moisture causes more harm than dry soil.

In addition, you need to remember that in autumn and winter you should not water flowers as often, otherwise the roots may start to rot.

But even if this happens, you can cut them off and replant the flower, treating the soil with a fungicide.

The second reason: a flowerpot

Gradually, the roots of the plants grow, which makes them feel cramped. In such situations, it is enough to buy a new pot a couple of centimeters larger than the previous one and the problem will be solved.

The third problem: pests

Even at home, you need to remember about spider mite attacks. Yellow leaves are just one of the signs of a plant affected by the pest.

If you look closely, you can see small holes and thin webbing on the leaves.

Treat with pest control products according to the instructions and the geranium will come back to life.

For reference

Geranium is a plant of the Geraniaceae family, represented by more than 400 species of herbs and subshrubs. The flowers have 5 petals, often colored white and pink, as well as purple or blue.
