A good harvest of eggplants indicates that the gardener understands something about what he is doing and can even give advice to his neighbors.
But all this is appropriate only if this capricious vegetable produces a consistently high harvest year after year.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", a scientist, agronomist and landscape designer, explained why eggplants do not bear fruit.
First, it all starts with choosing a place to plant seedlings.
The southern culture needs good lighting and if this point is ignored, then the ovaries will not appear.
Plants should be exposed to sunlight for at least 6-8 hours a day.
Secondly, like all southerners, this crop reacts painfully to temperature changes.
When growing eggplants, monitor the air temperature.
If the temperature drops to +15 and below, or rises above +30 degrees Celsius, the flowers will fall off.
Thirdly, eggplants react painfully to over-watering and lack of moisture. Therefore, you will have to follow the watering regime.
Fourthly, excess nitrogen, as in most cases, also affects fruiting.
There will be a lot of greenery, but there may not be any flowers at all.
Fifth, carefully study the manufacturer's requirements.
If the variety requires pollination, then problems with the harvest may arise when planting seedlings in a greenhouse.
