If you want to keep your garden furniture in good condition and extend its service life, it needs to be prepared for the winter period.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what to do with wooden furniture.

You need to start with a thorough cleaning of the furniture. For this, you will need a soft sponge and soap solution - get rid of dust and dirt, and then rinse the items with water and dry them.

If you notice cracks or chips on your furniture, fill the defects with a mixture of wood glue and fine wood shavings or putty.

The next step is to treat the wood with an antiseptic. This impregnation will protect it from rotting or insects.

In addition, it provides protection from moisture and ultraviolet radiation, penetrating deeply into the fibers of the material.

Alternatively, wood oil can be used. In addition, it gives the wood surface a more natural look and preserves its texture.

If possible, move furniture indoors for the winter.

Otherwise, be sure to get water-repellent covers that allow air to pass through and prevent wood from rotting and warping.

However, covering the products with plastic film, as well as storing them on the ground, is not recommended.
