Pomidofel, as you can easily guess from its name, is a hybrid of potatoes and tomatoes.

Unfortunately, you are unlikely to find seeds of this miracle plant in stores, but this does not mean that you cannot grow it on your own plot.

You will have to tinker with it, but if you want to harvest tomatoes and potatoes from your garden, the grafting method will come to the rescue.

First, select the source material. You need ripe potatoes with a well-developed root system and a small variety of tomato. Low-growing tomatoes like cherry tomatoes are best suited for this purpose.

They should be grown in different pots filled with special soil.

When you see that the diameter of the stems of both plants is 1 cm, you can begin grafting, in which the potato will take on the role of rootstock, and the tomato will take on the role of scion.

Cut the stems diagonally at one angle and press the cuts of the top of the tomato and potato bush tightly together, then wrap them with soft adhesive tape.

After grafting, the plant should be placed in a dark place for a couple of weeks. If you did everything correctly, the cuts will soon grow tightly together. If the top withers, it's okay, it happens. Expect fresh green leaves from the tomato plant.

At this stage, it can be transplanted into open ground. The plant needs watering, loosening, weeding and mulching. The first feeding consists of nitrogen fertilizers, when buds appear, treat the tomato with superphosphate, and during the setting of fruits - ammonium sulfate.

For reference

Tomato is an annual or perennial herbaceous plant, a species of the genus Solanum of the Solanaceae family.
