Many gardeners are afraid that the raspberries they grow will become wormy.
It’s a shame if there are worms in the collected berries: such a harvest can be considered completely spoiled.
Fortunately, there is a miracle cure that provides the fruit with ideal protection.
A powder that you probably have at home will come to the rescue. We are talking about... the most common baking soda.
But first, it’s worth talking about a preventative measure.
At the very beginning of the summer season (before the buds open), you need to treat the raspberry bushes with a three percent Bordeaux mixture.
At this time, the culture should be doused with drops of soda solution.
The product is prepared very simply: you need to fill a bucket with boiled water, add two tablespoons of sodium hydrogen carbonate and thoroughly mix the contents of the container.
Spraying raspberries with this liquid should be done weekly.
Don't worry: soda won't change the taste of the fruit. The berries won't be wormy.
Instead of soda solution, you can use mustard infusion.
Pour 100 grams of dry mustard into a deep container, add a little water and stir.
Pour in just enough liquid to create a mass that resembles sour cream in consistency.
Dissolve the prepared product in a bucket of water and leave the resulting liquid for exactly 24 hours: let it infuse.
The result will be an infusion that should be used to periodically spray raspberry bushes.
