How to burn garden waste using bricks: a life hack for damp weather

Late autumn is the best time to tidy up your dacha, remove grass, leaves and other debris.

Typically, most of this waste goes into compost, but some remains.

Many summer residents prefer to get rid of plant debris by burning them.

But what if the weather outside is damp, which is not uncommon in November, and the pile doesn’t even think of flaring up?

It turns out that the most common brick will help in such a situation. According to experienced owners of country houses, you can burn garbage with it even when it starts raining outside.

The first thing you need to do is place the red brick in a container filled with kerosene for a couple of hours. Make sure that the liquid completely covers the brick.

After this, the "settled" brick must be placed in the center of the pile that you plan to burn. For safety reasons, it is recommended to burn the garbage in a metal barrel. In this case, the brick is placed on its bottom.

Light the brick. It will burn for several hours, providing the intense heat needed to burn even damp waste and effectively drying plant and non-plant materials.

To extinguish a brick, push it out of the ashes with a stick and cover it with earth until the fire is completely extinguished.

Be careful, as the brick will remain hot for a long time. And don't forget about other safety rules when working with fire.
