The most successful acquisition for decorating a flower bed is considered to be a plant that your neighbors on the site do not have.

It would be nice if this beautiful plant did not require much attention and was generally considered unpretentious.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about one such crop that needs to be planted in September.

Phloxes come in several species and varieties.

Therefore, any gardener will be able to choose something unique for themselves and decorate their plot.

Phloxes bloom until late autumn, but the perennial cannot be planted just anywhere.

Where to plant phlox

This plant does not conflict with its neighbors in the flowerbed, so you can count on the most interesting combination.

But you need to know how flowers react to sunlight.

It is better to avoid direct sunlight and plant flowers in partial shade. Here they will reveal themselves in all their glory.

Soil

These flowers do not have any special requirements for soil composition.

But in the fall you will need to add fertilizer to develop the root system.

It is recommended to plant flowers at intervals of 40 cm from each other; there is no need to plant them too deep.

Top dressing

In total, flowers are fed three times per season:

  • when the first leaves appear;
  • before flowering;
  • after flowering.
