Autumn is not yet a reason to forget about crop rotation rules, or rather, it is high time to remember in order to prepare the beds for the new season.

To avoid the spread of diseases, restore the structure and fertile soil layer, you need to know what to sow in the vacated beds.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer, told what to sow in the place where onions and garlic grew.

First of all, you need to remember that the popular opinion that the earth should rest after summer, so there is no need to plant or sow anything, is not the most correct.

One way or another, the bed will become overgrown with weeds, which will only make the situation worse.

At the very least, you need to think about sowing green manure, which will serve as fertilizer and a means of improving the soil.

They will mainly prevent the growth of weeds and repel some pests.

There is also an alternative option.

It is believed that after onions and garlic, the condition of the soil can be improved with the help of daikon.

In addition to the fact that before the onset of cold weather it will be possible to collect a healthy harvest, during this time daikon will perfectly cope with loosening the soil and make it moisture- and air-permeable in the garden bed.
