One of the capricious vegetables in the garden is eggplant. But growing a rich harvest is not so difficult if you pay due attention to the seedlings.
In gardening circles, they say that the plant itself tells you what it lacks, and the gardener only needs to react to the signals in time.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to understand what eggplants lack.
If the eggplant leaves stick out at an acute angle to the stem, the plant lacks phosphorus.
If the leaves curl up into a boat shape and the edges become covered with a brown border, then potassium needs to be added.
If the color of the leaves has become light, there is not enough nitrogen in the soil.
And if the leaves have become yellow-green and mosaic, then we can talk about a viral disease or a lack of microelements.
In such cases, foliar feeding is carried out. If the color does not change within a week, the plant is disposed of.
And the last point is the marble-green color. This is already a sign of magnesium deficiency.
