What to do with onions that have gone to seed: the harvest can still be saved

Many farmers are expressing concern that the onions they grow have begun to bolt.

No wonder: in this case, you can’t count on a good harvest, because the plants begin to spend all their resources on forming inflorescences and producing seeds.

As a result, the bulb stops growing, and in some cases even begins to dry out - such an onion will not last long.

Let's figure out what can be done to save the harvest.

Experienced gardeners in such a situation advise cutting off all the shoots. The cut should be made low, at the very neck of the bulb.

Of course, flower stalks will appear again, so be on the lookout and continue to cut them off again.

It is worth monitoring the beds and arrows until it is time to harvest.

If you continue to remove emerging shoots in a timely manner, the bulbs will grow large or at least medium-sized, which will reduce crop losses.
