Did you know that the acidity of the soil in your garden plot can be determined using black currants?

We'll tell you what to do with currant leaves to find out if the soil is acidic.

How to determine soil acidity using currants

We pick three or four leaves from a blackcurrant bush and brew them in a regular glass jar.

The resulting broth needs to be cooled and filtered. Next, place a tablespoon of soil into the broth.

If the liquid turns red, the soil in the area is acidic.
