Many gardeners feed almost all the plants on their plot with wood ash and don’t even suspect that this shouldn’t be done.

We tell you how to properly use ash as a fertilizer.

How to feed plants with ash

Firstly, you cannot use ash to feed plants that prefer acidic soil.

These include, in particular, conifers, sorrel, blackberries, blueberries, heather, rhododendron, and rhubarb.

Tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, onions, potatoes, pumpkins, beets, strawberries, and currants love ash fertilizer.
