One of the vegetable crops that every gardener considers it his duty to grow for the winter is onions.
The culture is unpretentious, but needs additional feeding, which helps to avoid yellowing of the tips of the feathers. At the beginning of summer, this should not happen.
Gardeners have two options to choose from for feeding onions.
For 10 liters of water you will need one tablespoon of ammonium nitrate, ammophos and potassium sulfate.
The ingredients need to be dissolved in water.
The solution will prevent yellowing and will also significantly increase the size of the onion head.
In this case, mullein or weeds are used.
The components are infused in water for a week, and the resulting concentrate is diluted with water.
To do this, 2 liters of infusion are poured with water, bringing the total volume to 10 liters.
Then you need to add 3 tablespoons of phosphate flour and you can use it for watering.
The main causes are diseases, pest attacks or lack of nutrients.
Onions can also start to turn yellow due to cold weather, high soil acidity, or alkalization.
But most often the appearance of yellowness is associated with a lack of nutrition.
