Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to plant zucchini in open ground.
They say that these secrets will allow you to start harvesting earlier.
The seedling method of growing zucchini allows accelerating fruiting. In this case, the harvest begins to be collected on average 2 weeks earlier than usual.
In other cases, you can sow seeds that need to be prepared for sowing.
Sowing seeds
You can, as usual, keep the seeds in a warm place and in a damp cloth, in a growth stimulator. You can wake them up with a "contrast shower".
To do this, the seeds are left in a thermos with warm water (50-55 degrees) for 5-6 hours, and then left in cold water for one minute.
What to put in the holes
Zucchini, despite its simplicity, needs a fertile bud.
Therefore, it is better to prepare the beds, for which you need to add the following per 1 square meter:
- rotted compost (humus) – 2 buckets;
- superphosphate - 2 tbsp. l.;
- ammonium nitrate – 0.5 tbsp;
- wood ash – 1 glass.
Tricks
In order to have a rich harvest, it is necessary to spray the bush with the fertilizer "Effekton-O" (2 tablespoons per 10 liters of water).
It is also important to pick young zucchini, not allowing them to become overripe.
This will allow the bushes to retain their strength and energy to produce new fruits.
