What can and cannot be planted next to a cherry tree

Favorable neighbors for cherries are some stone fruits (sweet cherry, plum, peach, apricot), honeysuckle, elderberry, low-growing perennials, greens, and herbs.

Dill, parsley, and basil will grow well under the cherry tree. Melissa or mint can be planted to repel pests.

Of the perennials, it is recommended to plant lilies of the valley, snowdrops, marigolds, primroses, calendula, lungwort, and violets next to the cherry tree.
