If you are planning to harvest a good crop of tasty potatoes, then you should "deal with" the main enemy of the crop.

It is known that without proper resistance from the summer resident, the Colorado potato beetle is capable of destroying crops in just a few days.

Therefore, it is worth giving the pest a worthy rebuff, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer.

What are these methods?

Wood ash

This method is good both as a preventive measure and as a control method. It is recommended to do the following. Sift the required amount of wood ash and start pollinating the plantings.

For each square meter of plantings, no more than two spoons will be needed. The procedure should be repeated every four days.

Mechanical collection

Don't underestimate the simplest method of fighting (albeit unpleasant) the Colorado potato beetle. It consists of physically collecting the pests and then destroying them.

The procedure should be carried out on a regular basis.

Birch tar

This method should be carried out at the moment when the crop begins to bloom. The method is simple. We dilute half a glass of the product in a bucket of water and spray.

The procedure only needs to be carried out once.

Previously, we talked about how to properly transplant tomato seedlings into a greenhouse .
