One of the available methods of stimulating seed growth is the use of a traditional technique based on the use of boiling water and cold water.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared it with us.
To do this, you first need to prepare two glasses - one with boiling water (70-80 degrees) and the other with cold water.
Then you should select the seeds for planting, be it tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, or something else, carefully wrap them in gauze, and lower them into each of the glasses one by one.
This procedure should be repeated three times. It is important to remember that the seeds should not be left in boiling water for longer than 3-5 seconds - this can lead to their death and loss of germination.
Once the seeds have been stressed in this way, they are considered ready to germinate.
After completion of the process of treatment with boiling water and cold water, additional sterilization of the seed material can be carried out.
This can be done, for example, by treatment in a solution of hay bacillus or potassium permanganate (manganese).
The seeds are carefully wrapped in a damp piece of cloth or placed in a jar and left in a warm place to germinate.
