The most important thing for a summer resident is not to miss the best time. This applies to everything - sowing, transplanting, watering, etc. It is equally important to adhere to the timing of fertilization.

This is what every self-respecting gardener should think about on the eve of spring and the beginning of the new summer cottage season.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to fertilize fruit trees and shrubs in the spring.

It is not enough to say that fertilizing is a regular matter. It is important not to forget about the timing of the first spring fertilizing.

First feeding

It is carried out 2-3 weeks before the beginning of flowering. These should be nitrogen-containing fertilizers. Nitrogen is washed out of the soil with precipitation.

Chicken manure with urea or ammonium nitrate is used.

Root feeding

To add to the soil in the trunk circle for trees and bushes, you will need 5 liters of urea solution (or ammonium nitrate).

For preparation, take 50 grams of the product per liter of water.

Supporters of natural additives can add 2.5 kg of manure per bucket of water (2 liters per tree).

For spraying

For foliar feeding, a urea solution of varying concentrations is prepared.

A 0.3% solution is used for apple trees, 0.2% for pears and 0.5% for stone fruit crops.

What to feed

It is believed that it is best to use mineral fertilizers (ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, urea) and organic matter (humus, manure, peat, droppings or compost).

During flowering, potassium and phosphorus supplements are used.
