Whether the seedlings will grow strong and healthy depends not only on the seed material, but also on the soil.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, tells us what should not be added to the soil for seedlings so as not to spoil it.

What is not added to the soil for seedlings

Firstly, you should never add fresh manure to the soil. Humus and compost are also not the best options.

Secondly, it is not recommended to add fresh sawdust. It will draw out the nitrogen needed by the sprouts to gain green mass.

Thirdly, do not add coffee grounds. They compact the soil and can cause fungal diseases.
