Oddly enough, it is often necessary to add not nutrient mixtures or natural fertilizers, but the most ordinary sand.
From a payload point of view, sand is absolutely hopeless.
But without it, it is not always possible to grow healthy seedlings. The fact is that it is the best loosening agent for soil.
Without sand, the soil will not allow air to pass through well, water may stagnate, and diseases, rot and other troubles will occur.
How to proceed
Gardeners who sow seeds in a peat-based mixture need to take care to add sand.
For this purpose, clean river sand is used in the amount of one glass of sand per five liters of the finished mixture.
