After autumn pruning, raspberry bushes must be bent to the ground so that they do not die during severe frosts.

How to properly bend raspberries for the winter, says the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

How to bend raspberries

Raspberry stems should be carefully tilted and pressed down with natural materials.

You can use, for example, boards or large branches of fruit trees left over from autumn pruning.

A layer of snow will form on the flooring made of boards or branches, which will protect the raspberries from frost.

Raspberries are bent down before the first strong night frosts. If the moisture in the stems freezes, it will be difficult to bend them down without breaking them.

It is recommended to tie up raspberries planted in rows. A strong rope is pulled along the bushes at a height of 20-25 cm, to which the shoots are tied.

It is desirable that the rope be made of synthetics. You can also dig a peg into the center of the bush and tie the shoots to it.

Earlier, the expert told how to make the ideal soil mixture for tomato seedlings.
