If you don’t consider yourself a lazy summer resident and are looking for something to do during the first month of winter, pay attention to currants.

It turns out that in December you can start rooting cuttings of this crop. And the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to do it.

All you need for this, apart from the currants themselves, is water or moss.

First, cut currant cuttings from woody shoots.

Try to make sure that all of them are the same length – 15-20 cm. Another mandatory condition is 3-5 buds on each cutting.

Make a slanted cut at the bottom to allow roots to grow.

After all these procedures, place the cuttings in a three-liter jar.

You can fill the glass container with water, but it is even better to put sphagnum moss on the bottom. It serves to retain moisture and will not allow it to evaporate, and in such conditions the roots grow unusually well.
