In winter, gardeners rarely visit their country plots.
However, you can also prepare for the next season at home.
So, some summer residents collect potato peelings. And they do this throughout the winter period.
The fact is that potato peel is a source of potassium, phosphorus, calcium, glucose, as well as other microelements and compounds that are of great importance for garden and vegetable crops.
Thus, a summer resident who collects potato scraps in winter will have considerable reserves of a luxurious natural fertilizer by the beginning of the new season.
An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how exactly you can use peelings at your dacha.
Potato peelings can be added to the soil when digging the latter. There should be approximately 300 grams of potato scraps per square meter of the plot.
The fertilizer should be at a depth of 0.1 meters.
To prepare the product, pour potato peelings into a deep container and fill it with water that has just come to a boil.
After 72 hours, the infusion will be ready and should be used to water the crops at the roots.
The product should be used in summer. The frequency of the procedure is once every two weeks.
Potato peels can be turned into powder. To do this, simply grind the waste with a blender.
The result will be a product that needs to be poured into the holes when planting cucumbers and tomatoes.
Earlier, summer residents were given a list of rules that should not be violated when fertilizing fruit trees.
