Gardeners fill half a citrus peel with soil and sow seeds there.

The good thing about orange peel is that you can easily make drainage holes in it.

In addition, such a container is natural. Therefore, when transplanting seedlings into open ground, nothing needs to be removed: the plant can be planted directly in the orange "container".

The citrus peel, decomposing in the soil, will begin to act as a fertilizer.

How to Peel an Orange

A gardener who plans to use orange peel as a container for growing seedlings must clean the citrus fruit in a certain way.

The peel should not be removed in pieces. The orange should be cut in half. Using a spoon, extract the pulp from each half.

As a result, you will get two hemispheres, which will act as “cups” for seedlings.

Earlier, summer residents were told why they need to collect walnut shells .
