Should summer residents throw snow into the greenhouse? Expert's answer

Some summer residents throw collected snow into greenhouses so that the soil does not freeze and is sufficiently moistened by the beginning of the next season.
However, the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh assures that it is quite possible to do without the procedure.
Disadvantages of the procedure
Throwing snow into a greenhouse has its downsides. Firstly, the process takes a lot of effort.
Secondly, melt water can freeze in the spring. The result will be a delay in sowing seeds.
Moreover, the procedure is not mandatory: you can moisten the soil and protect it from freezing in other ways.
What to do with the soil in the greenhouse
In the autumn period, it is necessary to carry out moisture-charging irrigation. In this case, the soil in the greenhouse will definitely not face a moisture deficit in the coming months.
Secondly, in autumn (or early winter) the soil in the greenhouse should be covered with black spunbond. In this case, the soil cover will be protected from low temperatures. In addition, moisture will evaporate more slowly.
At the beginning of a new summer cottage season, it is worth leaving the greenhouse closed so that there is high humidity inside. This is another way to moisten the soil without throwing snow.
If none of the above methods have proven effective, then just before planting the plants you need to water one bed with high-temperature water.
