Tibetan raspberry: what is this miracle and how to grow it

Tibetan, or as it is also called, strawberry raspberry, is gradually beginning to gain popularity in our region.

Therefore, the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh suggests finding out everything about the rules for growing this crop.

First, a minute of theory. These bushes, whose height reaches 1-1.5 m, and whose erect stems are noticeably thorny, have long been “living” in Japan and China, from where, in fact, they came to us.

Flowering starts at the end of June. What is remarkable is that this period in the life of the plant can last until the onset of cold weather.

The flowers and berries, which, by the way, form on the shoots of the current year, are more like blackberries, and their taste is vaguely similar to that of stone berries.

If you decide to try growing this crop on your plot, the very first thing you will have to do is to take care of limiting its growth so that strawberry raspberries do not fill all your property.

When planting, which should be done on a hill, adhere to the following scheme: 15 cm between bushes, 30 cm between rows.

Agricultural technology is the same as for regular raspberries, and consists of regular and abundant watering (one bucket per bush), as well as spring fertilization, for which it is worth using ammonium sulfate.

For the winter, take care of mulching the plantings, for which organic matter is best suited, and pruning - only 4-5-centimeter stumps should remain from the bushes.
