Not all summer residents have at their disposal phytolamps specially designed for supplementary lighting of plants.

Therefore, the question often arises: is it possible to grow seedlings, for example, peppers, without using them?

The answer was found by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

According to her, growing seedlings without additional lighting is possible, but only if you sow the seeds in March.

If sowing occurs at the end of February, then make sure that the seedlings can receive light for 12-14 hours daily.

As you might have guessed, it all comes down to the length of daylight hours.

In February it is shorter, so you can’t do without a phytolamp, and in March it becomes much longer, which means that the use of additional lighting devices will not play a special role.

Another important point: seedlings - pepper or any other - should be moved from time to time. Only in this case will all the plants have enough light and they will not stretch out.
