So, once you have planted the apple tree in your garden, make a cut at a height of 50-80 cm from the soil surface.
After this action, lateral shoots will begin to grow from the cut site, which will later turn into skeletal branches.
In the second year, you will have to do some pruning of the side shoots. Over the course of a year, the tree will probably grow many branches, which you will need to get rid of and leave only the skeletal shoots.
Make sure that they are correctly positioned in the crown and grow in different directions.
In addition, it is worth making sure that the skeletal branches are shorter than the central trunk, for which they need to be shortened by a third or a quarter of their total length.
Finally, in the third year after the apple tree has been planted, begin forming the next tier.
To do this, you need to select skeletal shoots - they should grow 20-25 cm above the first tier - and cut them to the outer bud, while the remaining branches are cut to the ring.
