Winter is the time when perennial crops go into hibernation, but they still need care from the gardener.

The gardener strives to effectively cope with frost and adverse weather conditions.

Experienced agronomists advise using a snow retention system, which allows for better regulation of snow melting.

Let us pay attention to the recommendations of the expert of the online publication Belnovosti and agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh.

How to use snow retention technique

Consider 5 design options.

  1. Windbreaks. This is a shield 3 meters high and 2 meters wide, which is located in a checkerboard pattern on the site.
  2. Fence made of construction mesh. Support posts are erected and mesh is hung, placed across the air flow.
  3. Spruce or pine branches. Snow is applied to these branches – they can be pulled out of the snowdrift and used elsewhere.
  4. Wattle. A fence woven from willow or other flexible rods.
  5. Car tires. They need to be laid out in rows around the area so that they hold back the snow.
