Gardeners who prefer to grow seedlings themselves know that there are no trifles in this matter.
The quality of seeds, fertilizers and conditions are also important. But the quality of the soil is far from the last place. Is it possible to prepare high-quality soil for seedlings yourself?
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told what to add to the soil for future seedlings.
1. Take garden soil (1 part). Instead, you can use turf soil (top layer) or peat.
2. You need to add clean river sand here (1 part or less/more – it all depends on the quality of the garden soil).
3. The next component is humus or compost (1 part).
The mixture according to this recipe will be loose, light and breathable.
For one bucket of the resulting soil mixture, you need to add 10 grams of superphosphate and one glass of wood ash.
Now all that remains is to mix everything thoroughly, pack it into PET bags and put it in a cool room or on the balcony until planting.
