How often to water tomatoes: many gardeners make a big mistake

Without proper watering it is impossible to get a high-quality tomato harvest.

Unfortunately, many gardeners incorrectly replenish the moisture deficit in the tomato bed.

They follow the strategy of "rarely but abundantly." But this approach leads to over-watering of the soil and deterioration of the condition of the fruits.

The tomatoes become tasteless. In addition, the plant becomes much more vulnerable to various diseases.

An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh reminds summer residents: if you want to collect more large, tasty, sweet and bright red tomatoes, water the garden crop more often, but do not use a lot of water.

How to water tomatoes correctly

The plant should be watered frequently. However, the portions of liquid used should not be large.

What frequency of watering should you choose? There will be no specific numbers, because you should focus not on the calendar and the number of days that have passed since the previous procedure, but on the degree of soil moisture.

It is important to remember the following: the soil in the tomato bed should never become dry.

Is the soil sufficiently moist? Then watering is definitely not necessary. Has the soil started to dry out? Then the procedure should be carried out.
