Evergreen deciduous plants won't survive until spring without your help: you still have time to prepare

Some summer residents plant evergreen varieties with leaves on their plots.

They are able to survive the winter, but under certain conditions and direct human intervention.

Otherwise, the plant may be greatly weakened in the spring, which will not give it the opportunity to bloom or even continue to grow fully.

Let's see what the expert of the online publication "Belnovosti" and agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh thinks about this.

How to Minimize Frost Exposure

An evergreen deciduous plant can roll up its leaves in winter and press them against its shoots to protect them from frost. It also slows down its metabolic processes in winter.

But without human help, such plants have a hard time – the threat lies not so much in the frost as in the winter sun, which can cause burns.

Therefore, it is in the interests of the summer resident to cover evergreen plants with breathable materials, for example, spunbond and agrofibre.
