Many summer residents value horseradish for its beneficial properties, but they also understand that this relatively wild crop must be handled with extreme caution.

You should be no less careful with its rhizome, but if everything is done correctly, it turns into a natural antibiotic.

It can be used to make many healthy snacks and drinks.

But let's see how the expert of the online publication Belnovosti and agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh recommends handling horseradish.

What to be wary of when growing horseradish

The thing is that it is very quickly capable of drowning out the activity of other neighbors.

This crop is quite demanding of soil. It prefers fertile loam or super sandy soil with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction.

Horseradish is planted away from the main beds, or better yet, on the other side of the fence. It is better to limit the rhizome with a barrier to a depth of 0.5 m.
