The Only True Way to Get Rid of Brown Spot on Strawberries: No Other Method Will Help

09.11.2023 13:00

Brown spot, which so often attacks strawberries, is nothing more than a fungal disease, due to which the leaves of the plant are painted in brown-yellow-red colors.

But that's not all: the affected bushes wither and dry up, which means that you won't get a decent harvest, notes Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert at the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer.

Gardeners who have encountered this disease can use a variety of methods in an attempt to cure plants - from using folk methods to treating them with fungicides, but, as practice shows, the disease returns again and again.

So, you can get rid of the disease only when you completely uproot all the strawberries.

Replace all the strawberries, no matter how much you regret the many years of work, and find a new place for them on your plot.

Strawberry beds should be planted away from the old location, as well as away from raspberries, tomatoes and other crops that are susceptible to powdery mildew, alternaria, etc.

Even though you will be using new planting material, you need to process the seedlings before placing them in the ground.

To do this, you will need an antifungal agent like "Aktara", into the solution of which you need to dip the strawberry roots.
