Watering is an important part of caring for any plant, including indoor plants, but few people know that the rules for carrying out this procedure depend on what time of year it is.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about all the intricacies of watering in spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Since winter is just around the corner, we suggest starting with this stage.
As is known, already in November the metabolic processes in flowers slow down, which means that the root system absorbs much less moisture than before.
Therefore, instead of flooding the soil, periodically spray your “green pets” from a spray bottle.
The beginning of the growing season is associated with an increase in daylight hours.
Therefore, the frequency of watering should be increased. You can understand that the plant needs moisture by assessing the top layer of soil in the pot.
When it’s June, July and August outside, water your crassulas, succulents and cacti moderately, and begonias, ferns and balsams generously.
The optimal watering scheme looks like this: 3-4 small portions of water at intervals of 20-30 minutes.
Finally, in the autumn period, you should focus on the weather that has set in outside. The more sun and warmth in the weather forecast, the more intensive the watering should be.
But don’t forget about another important factor: the beginning of the heating season at relatively high temperatures outside.
