In order to harvest a decent amount of quality tomatoes, you need to think through the technology of growing the crop from start to finish.

Sometimes the harvest will depend on the smallest details.

For example, a lot depends on the wrong choice of neighbors, says agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert for the online publication BelNovosti.

What plants have a negative effect on tomatoes

You shouldn't plant vegetables next to corn: it's too tall a crop and will block normal access to sunlight.

Peas can be a bad neighbor, as they can "attack" tomato stems. Dill is a great neighbor in salad, but it is better not to plant them nearby in the garden: the greens will take away the necessary nutrients.

Don't grow fennel nearby: it can be harmful to tomatoes. Wormwood will have the same negative effect.

If you plant broccoli nearby, tomatoes will develop very poorly. A similar result is observed when planting cauliflower.
