Despite the capricious nature of the peach, some gardeners manage to collect impressive harvests from the tree, even when grown in areas with moderately frosty winters.
The right place for planting plays an important role in the success of the operation, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer.
What should you know about a suitable place for growing peaches? First of all, this crop loves the sun.
If you think that shade will do for the plant, you will see from your own experience that such a location will negatively affect the development of the seedling.
In addition, the peach tree should be protected from the winds by all means, so think about how to place the tree near the fence so that drafts do not bother it and the shadow from the fence does not disturb it.
If you decide to get several seedlings at once, pay attention to the fact that they should be planted at least 4 meters apart from each other.
And you should keep your distance from trees such as cherry, sweet cherry, walnut, pear, etc. These crops have common diseases, and the same pests attack them.
Finally, it is worth saying just a few words about the soil, which is also of great importance: the best option for a peach is black soil or loam.
