According to experienced gardeners, ferrous sulfate (iron sulfate) is not suitable for autumn treatment.
Why – explained the expert of the online publication “BelNovosti”, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
The first reason is that at low temperatures this product loses its effectiveness.
If the thermometer outside the window drops below +5..+6 degrees, iron sulfate will be useless.
The second reason why you should avoid using iron sulfate in the autumn months is the high probability of causing a burn and thereby reducing the winter hardiness of the plantings.
This "side effect" can occur even if you used the drug in the correct proportions.
And the third factor that should make you change your mind: iron sulfate cannot cope with all ailments.
For example, it is effective when it comes to fungal diseases, but cannot boast of 100% effectiveness when it comes to bacterial or viral diseases.
