Despite the fact that it is already the second month of autumn outside, gardeners and vegetable growers still have a lot of work to do.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what exactly needs to be done from October 9 to 15 in accordance with the lunar calendar.
On this day, you can start planting onions, and on the contrary, you should dig up the bulbs and tubers from the flower bed to put them into storage.
If the beds have not yet been weeded and plowed, now is the time to do this, as well as loosen the soil. Finally, consider adding organic matter and spraying the plantings against pests and diseases.
This day, like the previous one, is considered passive, which, however, does not prevent you from going shopping for new gardening equipment.
In addition, on October 10, it is permitted to prune, graft and re-graft shrubs and trees, but abundant watering should be postponed until better times.
This date is suitable for sowing and planting crops with edible underground parts. Gardening work with shrubs and trees, permitted on October 10, can also be carried out on the 11th.
Weeding and treatment of plantings from diseases and pests are not expected. Work with garden tools, pinching and picking roots are prohibited.
All active affairs should be postponed again. Instead, engage in sowing, planting and fertilizing plants.
And while the application of fertilizers is only welcomed, the cutting down and uprooting of trees is prohibited.
October 13 has been dubbed the "hardest day of the lunar cycle." On this day, gardeners are advised to prune their gardens to remove damaged and dried branches, as well as treat for diseases and pests.
Loosening, digging, planting and grafting were included in the list of undesirable activities, as well as working with plant roots.
On October 14, pruning of trees and shrubs is permitted, which cannot be said about sowing work and loosening the soil, as well as digging and working with garden tools.
Passivity aside: on this day you are required to be as active as possible in the form of planting, transplanting and cultivating the land, as well as applying mineral fertilizers. Grafting and re-grafting are also permitted.
