How experienced gardeners collect pepper seeds: detailed instructions that even a beginner can handle

Experienced gardeners are most likely already accustomed to collecting fruits from pepper bushes in order to obtain seeds from them, which can be used for sowing next year.

They shared this knowledge with the younger generation of plant growers.

So, the first and most important rule is to collect seeds only from varieties, not from hybrids.

The whole point is that if you use only varietal fruits for seeds, then your future harvest will be the same, with all biological characteristics preserved.

If you – accidentally or intentionally – take seeds from hybrid plants, next year’s harvest will be completely unpredictable.

Another important point: you should collect seeds only from peppers that have reached biological maturity, not technical maturity, that is, from those that have acquired the appropriate color on the bush, and not from those that were picked while still green.

Such (ripe) peppers need to be picked and wait another 5-7 days for them to fully ripen.

Then cut the vegetable and remove the seeds, which must be dried at a temperature of +50 degrees.
