Speaking about onions, according to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , various pests and diseases can lead to the heads simply rotting.

Diseases that cause damage to onion crops

For example, due to damage by thrips living under the scales, the bulbs become wrinkled and covered with light spots.

In turn, the reason for the softening of onions is gray neck rot.

As a rule, this scourge develops due to excess moisture, which, in turn, is a consequence of a large amount of precipitation falling on the ground.
