Despite all its positive features, raspberries have one drawback, which is the plant’s ability to grow actively.

As soon as you get distracted a little, the neat raspberry patch turns into impenetrable thickets that constantly try to break out of the territory allotted to them.

To prevent this from happening, the summer resident should make at least a little effort.

So, if you are at the planning stage of planting, select a place for the raspberry bush where there will be natural restraining factors for it.

For example, an obstacle can be called a trampled path, a fence and other similar things that can significantly reduce the speed of its “spread”.

Alternatively, use a barrier fence that needs to be dug into the ground around the perimeter of the raspberry patch, immersing it to a depth of approximately 20-30 cm.

Raspberry roots are unable to overcome such an obstacle, no matter how hard they try.

In conclusion, we will give one more important piece of advice – do not forget to prune raspberries in a timely manner and get rid of excess shoots.
