Despite the fact that radishes are considered to be the easiest crop to grow, even with them problems can sometimes arise.
One of the troubles that can await a gardener who has decided to grow radishes is that for some reason the plant does not want to set roots.
Let's figure out what the problem might be.
Firstly, we must not forget that radish is a short-day plant, and therefore we should not try to sow it from mid-May to early July.
Secondly, the vegetable, like its other "relatives", will be happy with additional feeding. The main thing is to apply fertilizer in moderation.
Nitrogen should only be used at the very beginning, when shoots appear, while during the process of root formation, plants need a moderate amount of potassium.
And thirdly, radishes love watering, and if there is a drought outside, you are unlikely to get a harvest.
You should visit the beds with radishes planted in them once every 2-3 days to keep the soil moist.
