Everyone is equal before late blight: both experienced gardeners and novice summer residents.

The fungus can only be dealt with by hard work and timely care of the soil and plantings. At the same time, many people mistakenly believe that the disease is dangerous only for tomatoes. This is wrong.

The entire nightshade family, which, in addition to tomatoes, includes peppers, eggplants and potatoes, suffers from late blight.

The fungus lives in the soil and can only be fought with timely prevention.

How to proceed

Gardeners who have managed to control the spread of the insidious fungus advise the following.

Approximately once every two weeks, you need to water the plantings with a solution of phytosporin.

The concentrate is prepared according to the instructions - 10 grams of the preparation per glass of water.

For one ten-liter bucket of water, it is enough to add two tablespoons of concentrate.

Spraying is an alternative measure to combat late blight, especially if the weather is rainy.

For this purpose, copper-containing preparations are selected - Bordeaux mixture or "Kuproskat".

These preparations are used where green manure was not planted and additives such as lime and dolomite flour were not used.
