It is quite easy to achieve a decent harvest of cucumbers: all you need to do is to know and apply on your plot the basic truths for every gardener.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh reminds us: this crop likes the sun and loose soil.
When describing cucumbers, it is also worth mentioning that they are great water drinkers.
For this reason, many farmers often water their cucumber beds almost every day - during periods of hot weather.
Please note: the root system of these plants is shallow, so you should not pour out a large amount of water at once.
You can simplify the chores of growing cucumbers by using mulching – thanks to the covering material, moisture will remain in the soil for much longer.
The first feeding is carried out shortly after transplanting into a greenhouse or garden bed. If you decide to sow cucumbers directly into the ground, do not forget to fertilize them in the 4-5 leaf phase.
For the first time, choose a composition that contains a large amount of nitrogen, for example, a solution of chicken manure or herbal infusion.
After 2 weeks, it is the turn of potassium, which is contained in ash or potassium humate, and after another week, treat the plants and ovaries with a solution prepared on the basis of boric acid - you will need 2 g of the product per bucket of water.
