Snails are a problem for all gardeners. They love moisture and, above all, love the leaves of many plants. In our case, these are, of course, vegetables.
When we see clouds and rain on the horizon that persist for a long time, we already know what it could mean. A real snail attack!
When we think of snails in gardens and farms, we usually picture a snail with a shell.
However, it is not this snail that poses the greatest threat to plants. The main suspects and those responsible for spoiling vegetables are snails without shells.
They are the ones who are fond of strawberries, raspberries, carrots, cabbage and other vegetables and fruits. Snails are considered one of the most dangerous pests in the garden. When it is warm and humid, they can cause great chaos and destroy entire flower beds or vegetable beds.
Snails can be controlled using natural methods and chemicals.
The use of the latter, of course, ends tragically for snails and vegetables, and we must not forget that snails in the garden also perform a useful function. They fertilize the soil, and this is where their role ends.
Natural methods of struggle. We can use two options.
1. When it is damp and there are many snails, we scatter a thin strip of natural quicklime around the crops. After crossing such a path, the snails die.
2. Catch snails by luring them with beer containers. The snails try to crawl into the beer bucket, and thus, having collected a large number of pests, we take them from the garden and destroy them.
