Currant bushes require minimal care. After all, the crop is stable and can withstand many adversities quite steadfastly.

But there is one thing you should remember when growing currants.

The point is that it is important to monitor the area so that there are no weeds near the bush, which clog all the nutrients in the plant and ruin the harvest.

We are talking about field bindweed.

The plant wraps itself around the bush so tightly that it stops receiving the necessary light and air.

Fighting the weed is difficult. But experienced gardeners say there is no need to despair. They recommend paying attention to a salt solution, which helps fight the pest.

To do this, dissolve 1 kilogram of salt in 10 liters of water.

Then you need to carefully water the soil around the currant, but without getting it on the bush. It is advisable to retreat about 20 cm from the plant.

As summer residents note, such a remedy will not only destroy the weed with roots, but will also help to preserve more nutrients in the soil near the currants.
