Pumpkin needs additional feeding. It especially needs nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, zinc. Some of these elements can be found in a cheap and accessible product – wood ash.

It is advisable to use only wood ash from stoves and fireplaces. The remains of dry branches that were burned on the site will do. Other types cannot be used for feeding.

How to cook

The fertilizer recipe is quite simple.

First, you need to make a concentrated infusion of ash and water. To do this, fill the container 1/3 full with ash, then pour hot water.

The fertilizer should be infused for two days, but it is important to stir the product periodically. Then the concentrate should be filtered.

How to apply fertilizer

Pumpkins are fertilized with an infusion of wood ash during the fruiting period.

The procedure should be carried out early in the morning or in the evening.

First, the beds need to be moistened with clean water.

It is advisable to pour the fertilizer into the grooves dug next to the bushes, and then it is advisable to cover them with soil.

It is important to apply the product in such a way that it does not come into contact with leaves and stems.
